| Kids'NCare provides resource information on child care and preschool programs, after school activities, camp programs, and professional services in the Tri-State region, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The information is presented in alphabetical order by state, with the child care / preschool lists further divided by county units.
Larger organizations that have Multiple Locations are presented first in each category (by state, in their own alphabetical listing), with the rest of the listings following also in alphabetical order. The Professional Services category is a new one this year and includes child care referral agencies in each of the states, nanny and au pair placement agencies, and other professional services that are geared toward young children, like baby-proofing. Each entry includes detailed information summarized by abbreviations explained in the legend presented below. Child care centers are state licensed through the Department of Welfare, the Department of Health and Human Services, or the Department of Youth and Family Services, whichever one is the appropriate governing body in your state. You can find license information at the state web sites under one of the above departments. Delaware: www.state.de.us Kids'Care provides comparative information about child care choices throughout the Tri-State region. To make a really informed choice, we suggest you visit the facilities you are considering, interview the director, observe the caregivers and a day's activities. You should get references and recommendations and feel totally comfortable and confident about your decision. To be on the safe side, start the process at least 6 to 12 months ahead of when you want the care to begin, so that you can make the best choice for your child and your family. |
